OUR TEAM

  • - KURT DRESCHER -
President of Drescher Landscaping, Inc. since 1997. Kurt’s parents began Drescher Landscaping in the early 1970’s and incorporated in 1975. Having grown up within the family business, Kurt has gained the experience of many years. Fred Drescher, Kurt’s father, used to take Kurt out on projects and to meet with clients since he was knee high. Running tractors and digging in the dirt is what a kid loves. The experience of labor in the industry is unequaled. Hands on training can not be purchased. Fred started teaching his son when he was old enough to hold a water hose (and not get all of it on himself.)

Those many years of experience lead Kurt to try something new. In 1991, Kurt graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. But Kurt quickly felt the pull of the landscape industry. He came back from college and has since worked full time with the company.

Kurt has lived in Hinsdale his entire life. He is a husband and father of three young children. His immediate family is in the area also. He is an active member with the parish of St. Isaac Jogues church and is also involved in community affairs. His time away from work is devoted to his family, his personal faith and his community.

    - DAVE SAWDO -
Throughout his education Dave was always interested in design. He attended Downers Grove South High School where his teachers inspired his passion for design. Dave decided to attend Iowa State University, where he earned his bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture in 1989. For 5 years after graduation he worked as a landscape designer in one of the largest firms in Iowa, where he was able to develop a much more extensive knowledge of the landscape industry.

In 1994 he found his new home here at Drescher Landscaping, Inc. Since that time his design abilities and his knowledge of proper construction techniques have grown considerably. He continually attends seminars and classes in order to learn new and innovative ways to create the inspired designs that our customers expect. Dave feels that his number one attribute is his ability to develop a strong relationship with his clients. One of Dave’s mottos is ”Landscaping is not just a job it is an adventure”.

Dave has lived in Woodridge most of his life. He has been married to his wife since 1991 and has one daughter. Dave has three obsessions in life: his family, landscape design, and custom woodworking (maybe, the occasional round of golf).

    - CARI DALE -
Originally hailing from the town of Knoxville, Iowa, Cari Dale joined the Drescher Landscaping team in 1999 after graduating from Iowa State University with a degree in Horticulture. Cari started her horticultural training when she was this big, helping her grandma with her flower gardens, and attempting to tote watering cans that were bigger than she was. As she grew up, she could usually be found pruning the family’s trees, or deadheading the various flowers with pruners in one hand, and a bushel basket in tow.

During her time at Iowa State, she worked at the Reiman Gardens in Ames, assisting with putting the gardens to bed for the winter, and helping to wake them back up in the spring. She gained great insights from working with the teams that winterized the massive rose gardens, which each spring boasted a 99.9% survival rate. (There’s always that one…) She’s happy to share tips – just ask!

In the summer of 1998, Cari had the amazing opportunity of being granted an internship in the horticulture department at Walt Disney World in Florida. During that time she was able to experience a little bit of everything of what it takes to put on the show that is EPCOT Center every day of the year.

After graduation, Cari made the move to Chicagoland. She now lives in Bolingbrook with her husband Travis, and three adopted rescue cats - Kinzie, Cisco, and Dimitri. When she’s not working, Cari occasionally takes time out to do some gardening at her own home, and volunteers at the Human Haven Animal Shelter in Bolingbrook.
